Pannel doors

Open bab-cat-OWO opened this issue 1 month ago • 5 comments

Description of the feature

there should be an option to make it were 90 degree pannels turn into pannel doors. pannel doors are just pannels with the Aperture logo on them.

Image

Why should this be implemented

the reason why is because some times panels can be hidden this can be usefull(this why this should be optional) but it also can be annoying when a puzzle dose not communicate that there is a panel. also panel door can have gel on them or be portalable unlike normal doors.

Additional information

if it's not connected it won't have the logo.

Not sure what you mean by "pannel doors with an aperture logo", no such thing exists? I do want to make it more clear where panel surfaces are ahead of time, but this situation is tricky. A border around a voxel already signifies a flip panel, while 1x4 borders indicate stairs. We'd need some design which can be differentiated from other things. It also needs to work in all styles, and be combined with other things like portal placement markers, faithplate targets and surface lacquer.

I got an idea: it will only generate with a logo, border, or whatever indication you use if there's a visible antline or signage connection going to it. But if it's connected with an invisible connection, or with no inputs, it will generate without any indication. This could also apply to Flip Panels and Stairs too!

That's not really the problem, the issue is deciding what indication to use. But I'm also against that, it'd be better to not hide panels.

I do need to note that in these scenarios it's normaly better to use the glass panel
