The current emmiter and catcher are pretty strange looking, so as alternative I can suggest emmiter and catcher from Portal: Back to Past

The emitter feels too much like combine technology, actually I think that might just be a reskin of the 2005 beta pellet launcher.

Ahh, it is indeed. That explains why the catcher is mostly brush-based.
