Doorless Entry Corridor

Open seagull101 opened this issue 3 years ago • 7 comments

Description of the feature

Door entrances could be improved by allowing an option to remove the front door and/or the exit door (the door itself not the corridor).

Why should this be implemented

It might be nice and allow people to just walk into a chamber. It is also like certain portal maps where there is no entry/exit door.

This is already a thing for P1 and I was also planning to add it for Old Aperture, but I don't think Clean/Overgrown usually do this...

How do I do it?

I was thinking what might be a better way of implementing this is with a "start open" property on the entrance door item. That way you can configure it per-map, and it can have a different default value depending on the style.

Is this already planned?

This should be done by adding new corridors, not selected by default. It's already present in Portal 1 style.

Honestly I prefer having this as a stylevar/item property over tying it to specific corridors
