SBD device

Open one-kash opened this issue 7 years ago • 5 comments

Hello,

In this scenario there is only 1 iSCSI target for SBD - have you run into a situation where this iSCSI wasn't available either because of a problem or maintenance being performed on that VM?

Is there a better way to do it besides having a 3 device SBD?

thks

I also had a discussion with SUSE if you need 1 or 3 SBD devices. They are fine with 1 SBD device as long as you take that at least 2 nodes are online all the time.

There need to be 2 nodes out of 3 (2 are DB servers, 1 is SBD device) online that the application stays online, this is to avoid split brain. it is basically https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-machines/workloads/sap/high-availability-guide-suse-pacemaker but instead of 3 you use 1 SBD, this is ok
