We are hosting our monthly Bicep community call this Thursday, September 29th at 2PM PST!

Use this issue to address topics you would like to discuss, questions you have for our team, further demos you would like to see, and any high or low points you would like to share. This is an open space for our users to discuss any topics they would like to talk about with our team.

We have some great demos to share this call, including VS in Bicep! See you there!

• An update/comment on #4920. Important for private bicep registry adoption.
• Latest status on bicep parameter files.
• +1 on #4158.

I won't be able to answer these in the call, so answering as many as I can now before I have to go:

• #4343 -- I moved this to the 1.0 milestone. Not sure when we will get to it, but it's a good fit & finish item
• #4453 -- This has proved to be more complex than initially anticipated. @majastrz should be able to share more details in the call
• #4270 -- No update. Need more upvotes.
• #2690 -- Private Preview II milestone, which will include Deny Assignment support and the ability to support Management Group-scoped stacks, will release in the next month or so. This is meant to be "feature complete" with what we will offer in public preview. We don't have an ETA at this time for Public Preview. There are also a bunch of CLI UX improvements. @bmoore-msft and @apclouds can provide more detailed updates.
• #8403 -- I am hoping @anthony-c-martin will be able to provide an update on this in the call today.
• #3187 -- This is a bit of a stale issue. Any required metadata is captured as part of the bicep publish command. In addition, we have some structured metadata for modules published specifically to the Bicep Public Registry (azure/bicep-registry-modules). Take a look at the contribution guide to learn more.
• #4158 -- @jeskew might be able to provide an update on the call, otherwise I expect we will share more details in the next month or so. I expect us to support fully custom types as well as the ability to declare types that are sub-types of a resources.
• VS Extension for Mac -- we should create an issue for this if it doesn't already exist. I believe Uche mentioned there is no ETA for this at this time, but it'll be up to @puicchan to decide what we want to do with this request.
• #3689 -- There were some unforeseen challenges that occurred when we released this. We are hoping the CDN will be working as expected in the next month or so.
• #4920 -- No update. We would like to get this done before v1.0.
• Bicep parameters file -- no major updates. Would like to get this released in the next 3-6 months.
