Affinity Possible

Open validis-ad opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Hello, I had a quick look and I can't see a good way to set the affinity for the Ingress Controller Pods.

Is this something that can be configured in another way, or would it need to be added here?

For now I believe I can use Node Taints for the same purpose, but it's not ideal for our use-case.

Hello! This is something that we could add in the future.

Can you help us understand why this is something you want for your use-case?

Hi @OliverMKing, sure.

While I don't necessarily agree with it, there are certain requirements which stipulate a separation of any ingress points (or frontends) from backend points.

That isn't to say that the same can't be achieved with isolation and the like, but sometimes a physical separation of the nodes (i.e. one nodepool is for 'frontend') is the easiest way to check a box.
