Add ACR Geo-Replica Progress Tracker for New Geo-Replica Creation

What is the problem you're trying to solve Can you please add a feature to monitor the status of the ACR geo-replications?, when we create geo-replications of our main ACR, we're stuck reaching out to support so that they can check the logs and see if the replication is still running, it takes days for a replication of an 2.2 TB ACR to complete and we never know when are we supposed to raise a ticket to get help to decide whether the replication is still on-going

Describe the solution you'd like Some kind of feature to see if the replication is still on-going other than the standard Creating -> Syncing -> Ready or something to see if we should call support for help

We've noted your feature request for monitoring the status, and the general ETA for this feature will be in the next semester - around August 2024 for an estimated timeline.

This is something I'm exploring to introduce through the portal and CLI. However, there are no concrete timelines or roadmap yet.

@huanwu - This GitHub issue shows the need to enable:

  • a customer to track the progress of new ACR geo-replica creation
  • a customer to track the progress of specific manifests
  • an SLI on replication of manifests and blobs (under a specific size) so that customers can hold ACR accountable to replication SLI.

ACR is planning on exposing some of these as part of geo-replication high availability enhancements.

No concrete timeline updates at this time. This remains part of our planned HA enhancements. We'll update this issue as plans solidify.
