[BUG] Cannot connect to a virtual network connected Cloud Shell from Windows Terminal

Open dozer75 opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

To Reproduce

  • Create a Cloud Shell using the steps outlined in the Documentation.
  • Ensure that the new environment works from Azure Portal Cloud Shell
  • Open Windows Terminal and try to start Azure Cloud Shell

Observed Behavior

While it does work to work from Azure Portal Cloud shell, using the Windows Terminal Azure Cloud Shell (only way I tried) to connect to the Cloud Shell connected to virtual network gives the following message even though it is set up AFAIK.

You have not set up your cloud shell account yet. Please go to https://shell.azure.com to set it up.

Expected behavior

I should be able to connect to the Cloud Shell from Windows Terminal.

Is this specific to Cloud Shell?

It depends on how you see it... It's actually work in Azure Portal Cloud Shell, but not from Windows Terminal Cloud Shell.

Interface information

Windows Terminal Windows 11 Professional OS build 22000.376

Additional context

The reason for using Windows Terminal is that I want to connect to this Cloud Shell using Visual Studio Code and the Azure Account extension which in turn uses Windows Terminal for it's work. Without having this to work, there is no real way to work against Azure from Visual Studio Code.

I have the same things, once I setup cloudshell to connect to vnet. Adding comment to follow.

Connecting from portal works fine.
