Templates in Gallery rely on Azure Batch CLI Extensions?

It is my understanding that the templates based on JSON files according to the following are what is also used in the Gallery for BatchExplorer. https://github.com/Azure/azure-batch-cli-extensions/tree/master/samples#task-per-file

However, these CLI extensions are now deprecated: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates/azure-batch-cli-extensions-will-be-retired-on-30-september-2024/

Is there any possibility to maintain the functionality of this templating system within BatchExplorer, without the CLI extensions?
