great!
Azure Linux 3.0 is currently in preview and available via a preview feature flag. Azure Linux 3.0 GA and default for Azure Linux OS SKU is planned for k8s 1.32. Note: This is an estimate and subject to change.
FAQ: AzLinux 3.0 FIPS certification is planning to be available on 1.32 when AzLinux 3.0 goes GA.
Starting with AKS version 1.32, Azure Linux 3.0 is the default Azure Linux node OS for AKS clusters and node pools.
Azure Linux AKS customers will automatically move to Azure Linux 3.0 when upgrading their AKS versions from 1.31 to 1.32. No additional action is required.
For more details on the timeline of AKS 1.32 GA (ETA March '25) please see the AKS release calendar
Seems like AppArmor is still active in the Azure Linux v3 nodepools (preview) and SELinux is disabled. Will this change when it is promoted to GA (1.32)? AFAIK AppArmor was removed, and replaced by SELinux in the upstream image.
Azure Linux 3.0 is now GA in k8s 1.32. For more information, see how to enable Azure Linux 3.0.
