[Feature] HP bars in addition to attributes

Open ever-balance opened this issue 2 years ago • 5 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. It's not necessarily a problem, but I'm looking for a way to gamify my energy levels, my hygiene levels, the tidyness of the house, etc. Attributes don't really work for me since they have a slightly different mechanic than I need/want.

Describe the solution you'd like I'd like to have HP bars of some sort that can only go to 100%, and that can lose points over time or with tasks, but can also gain points with tasks. These would describe a more short term state of things rather than long term like the attributes do.

Describe alternatives you've considered I've tried using the attributes, but they weren't quite the right solution for me due to what I explained before.

Additional context

Hi, thanks for your suggestion.

We are also thinking about how to solve this problem.

According to our plans, we may provide more advanced customization options for properties in the future. For example, it is allowed to set the experience value required for each level, the maximum level, and even directly provide an attribute type with only 100%.

Specific plans are currently pending. Welcome to discuss your ideas.

Ah that sounds great! Would we be able to make categories for the attributes in that case? Or maybe preset categories like attributes, skills, daily status (aka HP bars) or something like that?

I also have some other ideas/feature requests regarding the attributes, do you want me to put those in separate issues?

Preset categories are also good advice. Yes, separate issues are welcome so we can follow up separately.

I've set up Tasker and KWGT to do such a thing. I use a custom attribute.

Whenever I perform a task, Tasker adds 5 to HP Whenever tasks become overdue, it subtracts 5 from HP

Took me a while to figure out the overdue array so I can count them individually.

I have to track the HP value in Tasker carefully, as I don't want the values to desync, as there doesn't seem to be a way to query for attribute values. This also means none of my tasks are set to affect HP.

Recently set up an expensive health potion as something I can buy.

Right now it's set to stop adding HP at 100, but I'm considering making it 299 so the bars match up (300 I think would level up the attribute).

I am currently considering penalties if it goes down to 0, perhaps reduce the other attributes, perhaps a coin penalty. But its primary job is to show when I'm slacking off and letting multiple tasks become overdue.

Just create a custom attribute for Hygiene, or House status. And if you don't complete the tasks with those attributes, you will lose points! It could even downgrade your level.

You can adjust the penalty to reach the desired effect.
