Abstract

NEO Blockchain is a revolutionary blockchain platform that is committed to building a smart economy by utilizing digital assets, digital identities, and smart contracts. We are delighted to have the opportunity to submit this proposal for a $50,000 grant from NEO Blockchain for an incubator of early-stage web 3.0 startups.

Our incubator aims to attract, incubate, and help launch early-stage startups building on NEO, backed by extraordinary, and ethical founders and teams.

Motivation

The concept of web 3.0 is gaining traction among entrepreneurs, investors, developers, and tech enthusiasts alike. Web 3.0 is a decentralized and distributed internet, where users are enabled to securely and safely store, share and transact digital assets while maintaining complete control over their data. Web 3.0 offers a secure, trusted, and transparent platform for businesses to conduct their activities, providing users with a secure, low-cost, and efficient means to securely transact and store digital assets.

The current market situation showed that while the business models can be good, the people behind projects are actually implementing them so we felt the urge to contribute to growing the new generation of extraordinary founders, and ethical teams.

Goals

We aim for quarterly cohorts of early-stage startups, the first one being incubated starting early February for 6 weeks process.
While the incubator is not focused on just one blockchain, we want to narrow it so as to attract founders, teams, and early-stage startups building on a very limited number of blockchains including NEO. Why NEO Blockchain? There are many reasons, but especially having in mind the current state of web 3.0, NEO maintains a clear distinction from other standard blockchain platforms in its focus on being regulatory-compliant and a development platform for decentralized applications. 

Deliverables & Roadmap

Specify deliverables in detail, including the following info for each:

• Total Estimated Duration: 1 year
• Full-Time Equivalent (FTE): 4 quarterly incubation cohorts
• Total Budget: 23,500 GAS

Also, provide a roadmap overview for the deliverables.

Every cohort will have at the end a demo day, all the startups will be listed on the websites, and we will provide PR materials for the startups and the NEO blockchain.

The cohorts will start beginning of February, May, August, and November, the activities will be transparent on the website, and shared in NEO's online communities (Telegram & Discord). We will split the funding into 4, based on the cohorts, and will use them as part of the funding contribution from the incubator ONLY for the projects building on NEO Blockchain.

The main benefit for NEO Blockchain and the community is that we will do our best to bring into the ecosystem good projects with excellent, and ethical founders, and teams.

Deliverables Verifiability

How would the community be able to verify that the promised deliverables (or milestones) were successfully achieved? For each deliverable/milestone, add supporting info on how it can be verified by the community.

Everything will be documented on the website, and also we will post on NEO's Telegram & Discord regular updates.

Budget Plan

• What are the overall required resources (i.e., budget)?

$50,000 in GAS

• Provide reasons why the requested budget is a good fit for the proposal.

It is the minimal viable budget that will be split into 4 (the 4 cohorts of 2023) and will assure that we can support 3-4 early-stage startups building on NEO in each of the cohorts. We have also tech partnerships, mentors, other resources, and investors lined up to invest in good projects so the funds will be used with responsibility.

• How the budget would be used to achieve the project goal?

It is not a large budget, but we aim to have a successful year with the incubator, so next year apply for more.
