Ellipsis character does not use font fallback

Describe the bug

When a piece of text is trimmed, the ellipsis character is supposedly looked up in the first font file only. If it isn't present there, a missing character square is rendered instead.

Expected behavior

The ellipsis glyph is looked up in other fonts if necessary.
