Please approve soon. The bug this fixes causes the package not to be useable in rolling. How it works in iron, I'm not sure.

I was about to send the send the same fix while stumbled upon this PR.

@jacobperron is there any way we could get this one in? This change enables us to build the library (and transitivelly, create_autonomy) under rolling/jazzy.
