Possible dead-end flow for domain purchase + free plan + create site

Quick summary

I hit a dead-end, blank screen after purchasing a domain, selecting free plan and then opting for "create site". Also documented in P2.

Steps to reproduce

• Visit WP.com/domains
• Search for a domain
• Choose a domain: in my case: suchprofessionalmuchmemorable.blog (url: https://wordpress.com/start/domain/domain-only?new=suchprofessionalmuchmemorable&search=yes)
• Enter purchase flow (url: https://wordpress.com/start/domain/site-or-domain)
• Take the “New site” path (https://wordpress.com/start/domain/plans-site-selected)
• Take the “Start with a free site” path
• Log-in (used wp.com user markdrovdahl)
• Complete domain purchase (in my case with WP.com credits)
• With purchase complete, on the “All ready to go!” page, select “Create a site” (url: https://wordpress.com/checkout/thank-you/no-site/77676530)
• Dead-end, blank screen (url: https://wordpress.com/start/site-selected/themes-site-selected?siteSlug=suchprofessionalmuchmemorable.blog&siteId=null)

What you expected to happen

That the "Create a site" link on the "All ready to go!” page would not result in a blank page.

What actually happened

Hit a dead end, blank page.

I tested this flow today and was able to replicate. Wondering if there's something related to propagation since I was able to create a site with the test domain once the domain resolved.
