Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Create a paragraph/heading. Check the original colors in the frontend.
2. Make sure you also link the paragraph/heading. Check the link color now. it should remain the same.
3. Next, make sure you change the Link color option: Direct Link: https://d.pr/i/MTARPC
4. Observe the results in the editor and on the published page/post. In most cases, having the Link color set to something else than the default one will render the links blue because of this CSS

The Link color option is respected in the editor.

What I expected to happen

To have the color link set to the one selected in the editor.

What actually happened

Testing this with multiple themes, I noticed that if I change the Link color, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I wasn't able to find a pattern.

Themes I tested with: Blank Canvas(the original case) TwentyTwenty-One, Hever.

Browser / OS version

Is this specific to the applied theme? Which one?

It's not consistent. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't.

Does this happen on simple or atomic sites or both?

This can be seen only on WordPress.com sites(simple) I couldn't see this option on a self-hosted site.

Is there any console output or error text?

No.

Level of impact (Does it block purchases? Does it affect more than just one site?)

I ran into this on 28383204-hc which is AT - Blank Canvas theme.

I tested this further.

Simple site using Blank Canvas and Twenty Twenty-One:

The preset color options don’t change the color at all:

Custom colors change the color in the editor:

But not on the site:

AT site using Blank Canvas and Twenty Twenty-One:

The custom colors did work in the editor and the site, the preset color options didn't work however.
