Quick summary
Since a recent update of Mastodon software Blog-Posts that are also published via activitypub cannot be linked any longer.
For example: https://hot-climate-topics.net/2024/12/05/hoelderlin-und-das-wetter-eine-zitatsammlung/
could be linked in earlier versions of Mastodon and the social media picture of the blog-post was shown.
After the update Mastodon linked to the blog-post in the fediverse and showed four pictures as preview instead.
However, this does not seem to work for the blog mentioned above. When I try to refer to the website of the blogpost, it only says Beitragsveröffentlichung ausstehend. I did switch everything on/visible in the settings of the activitypub plugin. I have no idea what could have gone wrong. Things work for another blog of mine.

I try to share a blog-post via mastodon. The link is shared, but the blog-post preview is not showing.

Mastodon is using the same mechanism as for quotes also for sharing links now. If you use the latest version of the ActivityPub, this should still work, but it can cause some time until your blog sends the Accept.
@stefan11 can you check if WP-Cron is running on your site and/or if you have a blocking cron?
