Varia Themes: Dashes in front of submenu items disappear on mobile

Open hacchism opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Quick summary

Dashes in front of submenu items disappear on mobile specifically with iOS devices with iOS 17.2.1.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Use one of Varia themes (i.e. Morden, Alves).
  2. Set up a primary menu and create a drop-down menu with a few submenu items.
  3. Check the website on mobile.

What you expected to happen

See dashes in front of submenu items so submenu items are visually distinguished.

Other notes

  • I could replicate this only with iOS devices that have the latest iOS 17.2.1.
  • I couldn't replicate the issue with my older iPhone with iOS 16.3.1.
  • I ran a web inspector with my iOS device with 17.2.1 and found out that the content selector is defunctioning due to the counters value being marked as an unsupported property value (see the screenshot below). This seems to be the direct cause.
