Investigate: After Scrubbing Playback to the Right, the Next Episode Starts From Middle/End or Is Skipped
Description
User descriptions of the issue mention using the scrubber on the lock screen player to drag playback to the end. Instead of the next episode in their Up Next queue playing as normal, it either starts from the middle/end or is skipped entirely.
Step-by-step reproduction instructions
We haven't been able to replicate the issue so far. However, the user in #7475878-zen mentioned the following:
I swiped the scrubber off the right edge of the screen from this view of the app (to be clear, I wasn't trying to bring the scrubber to the end of the episode, or even keep my finger on the displayport; I "grabbed" the scrubber and swiped across the entire device off the right):

We haven't been able to replicate so far, and the issue also seems to occur randomly for users.
We've started asking them for episodes they've experienced the issue with, in case the issue can be narrowed down to certain file types or hosts.

We're still waiting for feedback on episodes they've experienced the issue with. I've also now asked them for logs and to confirm they are using the lock screen player.

So normally I will open the app to read the synopsis to check and then scrub forward, so mostly it is done not on the Lock Screen.

I’ve noticed for a few months now that every so often Pocket Casts will reach the end of an episode and then skip to the middle or the end of the next episode in my queue.
Yes, that's very possible - I frequently skip to the end using either the skip buttons or the scrub bar at the end of an episode to skip the closing credits, etc.

So this specific time happened right when I pushed play, which I think was actually on my apple watch app (there’s a small chance it could have been in the iphone app, but it was more likely on my watch that day) Other times it has skipped episodes when I drag the play point along the bar, and I’m pretty sure it’s been from the lock screen, but it may also have happened in the app—it doesn’t occur all that often, so I’m not entirely sure, sorry.Â
