Details panel text is cutoff in 3 Button Navigation mode when viewing Details of non-playing podcasts

Description

If the phone is using 3 Button Navigation (and not a Gesture based navigation scheme), the text of moderately long podcast descriptions get cutoff if you view the "Details" panel of a podcast from the podcast listing (one that isn't currently playing). When the same podcast is actually playing, the "Details" panel shows all the text without being cutoff at all.

Step-by-step reproduction instructions

  1. Make sure the phone is using the 3 Button Navigation style, not Gestures
  2. Click on a podcast with Details text that's of moderate length (screenshot example included from "The Daily" NYT podcast from today, 9/27/2024)
  3. Scroll down on the Details tab, and note that the text is often cutoff at the bottom
  4. If you begin playing the same podcast and then look at the "Details" tab for the playing podcast, there's no such issue

I would like to confirm if I have understood the issue correctly. In step 3, are you saying that you are unable to scroll down, which is causing the description to be cut off?

That's correct. That is as far as you can scroll.

Reported in Google Play reviews:

App has been fine for years but now you can't scroll down descriptions of podcasts. You can't raise a support ticket without creating a log on. No thanks.

I will fix this issue as part of the Android 15 edge-to-edge upgrade that I working on now.
