Are you an Automattician? Please test your changes on all WordPress.com environments to help mitigate accidental explosions.

  • To test on WoA, go to the Plugins menu on a WordPress.com Simple site. Click on the "Upload" button and follow the upgrade flow to be able to upload, install, and activate the Jetpack Beta plugin. Once the plugin is active, go to Jetpack > Jetpack Beta, select your plugin, and enable the update/tested-to-6-7 branch.

  • To test on Simple, run the following command on your sandbox:

    bin/jetpack-downloader test jetpack update/tested-to-6-7

@coder-karen @jeherve, Do we have a timeline for when we can expect this PR to be merged? We were thinking of releasing the A4A beforehand once this PR is merged to resolve the warning.

image (2)

@rcanepa @vitozev, let me know how urgent we want the warning to be fixed and if it aligns with the timeline.

At the moment just awaiting https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/pull/39696, but anyone can manually update the A4A plugin readme 'tested to' in a separate PR as needed if it tests well and I can update this PR.

@rcanepa @vitozev, let me know how urgent we want the warning to be fixed and if it aligns with the timeline.

It is okay to wait a few more days for this PR to be merged. You don't need to create a separate one.

rcanepa avatar Oct 23 '24 13:10 rcanepa

@coder-karen, will your team release the plugins together? I'm wondering if we should release a new version of the A4A Client plugin or if your team will do it.

rcanepa avatar Oct 24 '24 12:10 rcanepa

@coder-karen would like to check in about @rcanepa's question. Will this be released by your team soon, or should our team do our own release for the A4A client plugin?

jkguidaven avatar Nov 11 '24 07:11 jkguidaven

@rcanepa @jkguidaven apologies, I missed the earlier question. The 'updated to' version was updated for all plugins once this PR was merged. Vulcan doesn't release any plugins, but Garage does and did release the updated Jetpack plugin. Individual plugins are released by the individual teams, but Garage may be able to help with that process. The jetpack-releases channel in Slack would be the best place to check in about that.

@coder-karen, I appreciate the guidance. I'll reach out in jetpack-releases for help.
