New Wordpress standard CSS editor - clear cache on changes to Wordpress CSS

Open tomandersen opened this issue 8 years ago • 2 comments

Wordpress now has an 'official' way to inline CSS on every page that goes out. Its under theme - customize. EG https://firstsiteguide.com/customize-css-new-wordpress-feature/

When you edit this CSS the cache is not deleted. Wordpress 3.8.2 WP super cache Version 1.5.3.

Since the CSS is now inlined with the HTML the HTML cache needs to be reset. I did it manually, but its going to cause confusion for some users.

I presume there's an action the plugin can hook on to when the css, or in fact the customizer is updated. I'll have to look into that.

For other reasons I could not test with the latest SuperCache, but the release notes don't seem to mention any new CSS support. The new inlined CSS works well in that its fast and saves a trip to the server.
