Cookies & Consents Banner Widget: Refuse / Don't Consent Button
The user contacted us over a ticket (4036789-zen) about the lack of a button to refuse cookies and shared this message:
it is still not possible to have a banner respecting the rules related to the GDPR, that is to say with a button allowing to refuse all the cookies. Can you please help me to comply with this point? The banner on sites without domain seems better but still not correct since the refuse button is not available directly.
As the Cookies & Consent Banner Widget doesn't allow that yet, I'm creating this issue as a Feature Request.
This is probably linked to https://github.com/Automattic/wp-calypso/issues/54785 Wondering if this should be high priority since it's not complying with local EU laws, or at least not the recommended implementation (explicit rejection button required).

Yep, you're right. I'll close the other issue as duplicate.

They are quite adamant that the banner is not GDPR compliant, as by law there must be a reject button.
They are a French user. From what I can find, French Data Protection Authority (CNIL): Accept and reject buttons need to be equally conspicuous. You must ensure that you offer an equal opportunity to say “yes” and “no” to cookies. The commonly used “Accept All” and “Cookie Settings” buttons are NOT sufficient.
@jeherve Is it possible we can raise the priority of this?
Sharing this - pbMDNC-tR-p2 - as the suggested response there appears relevant here.
Noting that the Cookies & Consents Banner widget may need a whole revamp with the transition to the block widget editor, so this request may have to be considered with whatever the new implementation will be.
