Translations not publishing when original moves from draft to published
I can mark an originating post as being 'Ready for translation' before it is published. When I 'save draft', this creates a job in the Translation section.
I can mark my translation as 'Complete' before the original is published.
When I then go to publish the original, I'm expecting the translation to become published too. But it doesn't. The post doesn't appear on a 'latest posts' view, and any Babble-generated switcher links show %whatever%
variables.
If I go back into the translation, and immediately click Update again, the translation then becomes available, and the switcher links are correct.
Everything works fine if:
- the original is published before a translation is completed: original is already available, translation becomes available when marked complete; or
- the original is set for scheduled publication: in which case both original and translation become available at the appointed time.
This definitely sounds like something that wasn't considered. The reverse is probably true too. If a published post is un-published, its translations would still be published.
When the status of a post is updated, the status of its translations should be updated too if its translation job is marked as complete.
