Feature idea: Apply custom filters to posts rendered in editorial calendar

I would like to apply some customisation to the posts that are displayed in the editorial calendar.

For example, I might temporarily tag some old content as "featured", which is displayed prominently in archive lists even though the content may be published months or years previously.

I would like to see the current "featured" content in the editorial calendar.

I imagine this would require having a filter in Edit Flow core which I can use to customise the content that is rendered in the editorial calendar.

I would be willing to contribute the required changes if this feature idea is accepted by the maintainers.

I believe this could be solved with the filter added in https://github.com/Automattic/Edit-Flow/issues/417
