PR: Cannot export model Group as IfcBuiltSystem

Open Bootata opened this issue 1 year ago • 5 comments

Problem Description

Hi, I need to export a group of walls from Revit as a IfcBuiltSystem/OUTERSHELL (IFC4x3 configuration). I've tried creating a model group and used the mapping default parameters available in Revit 2024 to map easily the model group. Export_IfcBuiltSystem_RevitMapping In export IFC configuration setttings all entities listed are correctly set to be exported.

In the IFC file there is not the entity IfcBuiltSystem, as hoped. Export_IfcBuiltSystem_IFCViewer_EntityNotFound

Is it possibile to export this entity? Maybe there is a way that i'm ignoring to do so?

I've added an item to our backlog to support this in an upcoming release.

Thanks @AngelVelezSosa, I will add some more information from my tests: it seems like a model group in revit can be exported just as IfcGroup. Apparently, Revit also cannot export a model group as IfcSystem and IfcDistributionSystem.

I'd expect a few to work, I'll verify now.

I'll add those to the request.

Hello @Bootata,

The functionality to export a Revit model group as IfcBuiltSystem has been successfully implemented and fixed starting with Revit 2024. Therefore, this issue can be closed.

Thank you for your collaboration!
