PR: Displacement of IfcOpeningElements and wall base lines when linking models with large coordinates
Problem Description
When re-linking an IFC exported from Revit 2024 with large coordinates (>= 9.500 m) and the shared coordinates or survey point option, IfcOpeningElement entities and wall base lines are (unexpectedly) created at the survey point location while all other model elements are created at the project base point location (as expected).
- This behaviour was likely added in 24.1.
- It does not occur in Revit 2023.
- Tested with 24.2.20, but also observed with 24.2.0.
Objects at survey point:
Objects at project base point:
Model setup
- Project base point is located at internal origin
- Project base point eastings and northings are set to 10000 m
- Survey point is located at (10000, 10000, 0)
- Survey point eastings and northings are set to 0 m
Steps to reproduce
- Export the model (https://github.com/andydandy74/MyIssues/raw/master/RevitIFC804/169_IFC_CoordinateRangeLinkingIssue10000.rvt) using the shared coordinates option
- Re-link the exported IFC into the model
- Observe how
IfcOpeningElemententities and wall base lines are located near the survey point while everything else is located at the project base point
Workaround
Link IFC file into Revit 2023, then link the generated RVT file into Revit 2024
