Inquiry description

Hi Can someone explain the update strategy for IFC Export addin for 2024. Here on github the latest release is IFC.for.Revit.2024.2.0.49.msi (Not installed) I have updated Revit to 2024.2.0.63, exporting IFC are stamped "FILE_NAME('Project Number','2024-02-07T14:34:16+01:00',(''),(''),'ODA SDAI 24.6','Autodesk Revit 24.2.0.63 (ENU) - IFC 24.2.0.63','');" In mange.autodesk.com there is no extension for IFC Export available.

Is it recomended to install the version available here on github or is the version included in the Revit update the recomondation?

Regards PT

Hi @PeterTranberg ,

The IFС Exporter, regardless of whether it's a .msi from GitHub or a .exe from the manage.autodesk.com site, has the same functionality as Revit itself (the addin form just allows us to release new. improvements faster and regardless of the Revit version). So, if the version of Revit is higher than addin, it is better to use just Revit. In your case, if you have updated Revit to the latest version, you do not need to install the addin (since the first three digits of the version are the same, there are no differences in functionality)

Hi @o-babii I am aware of this, i am just wondering if there is a new strategy, in 2024 there is no download option in the extension area for IFC Export.

Hi @PeterTranberg , This sounds strange, could you please make sure that the filters (especially the Release date) are correct?

@o-babii Thanks, I was locking inside the Revit Downloads, normaly they are present here as well. They are for 2023, 2022 but not for 2021 and 2024. Anyway, thanks for the update. image
