File upload to BIM 360 Docs (using direct to S3 approach) doesn't work with v1.9.7

The sample code for uploading a file with the direct-to-S3 approach doesn't work with version 1.9.7 of this SDK, while it still works with version 1.9.0. Updating to 1.9.7 results in 13B broken file symbols in BIM 360 docs.
