Visual glitch in `About` section

Open tooomm opened this issue 8 months ago • 4 comments

Describe what issue or improvement you have with the usability design I'm facing a visual issue in the About section where the (i) is not fully displayed, but only ) next to the "Version" headline: Image Image

Additional context The app runs in Windows 11 at a smaller but higher resolution laptop screen. Hence I set scaling in the OS settings to 125%.

I did also realize that the build-in updater (beta channel) reported that the newest version is used while running 10.4.2.25 (see first screenshot). Had to manually update to 10.4.2.29 (second screenshot).

That also made me realized that the repo where the betas are hosted does not contain the portable/zip version.

Hi @tooomm thanks for reporting this. Recently, @ChenYiLins and I started the work on WinUI 3. If all goes well, these things shouldn't be happening anymore.

I realized that some rework is ongoing - Highly looking forward to the result already!

Regarding my other observation... Would you know how the files are uploaded to the repo where the betas are hosted as the portable/zip versions are missing there.

We are targeting our PRs to the winui3 branch. You can follow that, to see the progress. It won't be finished for a while, though. I honestly know nothing about the repository specific things :)

Because the rebuilt version of winui still lacks some functions, we have to complete all the basic work before we can launch the beta test (at least after the function is completely the same as that of the previous version of ADM). If you can't wait to experience the winui version, you can try to clone the repository of the winui3 branch and compile it yourself.

FYI: there is a beta version released that's been made with WinUI 3. This framework solves this issue. Would you like to try it out? And if you have, what do you think? 😀 And now we have a beta out, is it okay if we close this issue?

Yep, the new beta fixes some of my reported issues. Awesome work, very much looking forward to how it impacts the app in general. Keep it up! 🚀

I'll keep using it and may report new issues.
