Settings not saving once Firefox

Describe the issue

Hi,

I am having an issue with my preferences being lost once Firefox is quit. For example, the Autofill and dark theme settings revert back to their defaults after rebooting Firefox.

Is there any way of maintaining state between Firefox restarts?

Thanks in advance

Browser

I actually came to see if there was an answer to this issue. Oddly, it keeps my preferences fine on Linux Firefox but does not on Windows Firefox.

Do you have Firefox set to clear browsing data on exit? That will cause this.

I usually do with Firefox but that is set on both operating systems. I do not believe I have an exception in Linux but not in Windows; however, I would have to double-check. Thanks for the tip!

OK, back to confirm that changing it from Always use private browsing mode to just Clear history when Firefox closes and making sure Site settings is unchecked worked. Everything else in there can be checked with no issues.

I find it a little odd as extensions aren't sites, per se, but I guess they are treated as such under-the-hood. To me, it'd make more sense if Mozilla would separate the extensions in some way but I don't know how Firefox really works in that regard.

I can't speak for @kszenes but this is fixed for me!
