I would like to see support for server status for Uox3.org free shards

Is this about doing queries of the server to return something like server uptime, amount of players etc? If so, I can say that A2S is not supported (no idea what it would take to add support for that), but we do support a custom server query protocol used by UO shard lists to poll servers for such information. It's based on the network packet system used by UO for all network communication between server and client. You can see two examples of server-side scripts we use to detect and respond to such queries (two slightly different ones):
