Optical Music Recognition for Numbered Music Notation

I would like to propose an enhancement for the current Optical Music Recognition (OMR) system by incorporating support for numbered music notation. This feature could significantly expand the usability of the Audiveris application, making it accessible to a broader range of musicians and educators who utilize this form of notation.

Feature Proposal:

• OMR Engine Adaptation: The existing OMR engine should be enhanced with techniques specifically tailored for recognizing numbered music symbols. This may involve the development of neural networks trained on datasets of numbered music scores.

• User Interface Modifications: The OMR editor may need updates to facilitate a toggle or selection option for "Numbered Music Notation," allowing users to specify the notation system they are working with before initiating transcription.

Is it possible to incorporate this feature into the current system? I look forward to hearing thoughts from other contributors and maintainers on the feasibility of this enhancement.
