Quarter rest with aug.dots often detected as full note

Open Bacchushlg opened this issue 7 years ago • 2 comments

I have a couple of scans with quarter rests with aug.point. In most cases this is detected as full note. Also the glyph behind seems to be curious...

Look at the scan of #115 as an example.

Anything for You.zip

Another example, this time with 8th rest augmented.

I just checked with "Anything for You", sheet number 2, measure 6 (from beginning of the page) There is indeed an 8th rest plus a dot that lead to a whole head. image The whole head is an inter with grade value of 0.52 (which is above 0.5, minimum for survival). Consequently it survives the reductions.

But, we can, right before the SYMBOLS step, manually delete that whole head Inter. And the SYMBOLS step then correctly assigns an 8th rest with its augmentation dot. image

The coming new classifiers (in 6.x) should better handle such whole heads. This poor recognition of whole heads via 5.x template matching is not a bug per se. Issue is kept for enhancement.
