Unchecking Shownames reveals every single blankpost

Do a lot of blankposts under one character and then uncheck shownames, Now those blankposts are visible in the IC log. Wasn't like this in 2.8. Blankposting can also be hidden when a player plays a song and then blankposts afterwards.

Need verification, would help if you gave us the version you experienced this with.

Edit: per a different issue, user experienced this problem on 2.9.1.

This is indeed the case as the function that rebuilds the chatlog does not filter out blankposts. Whoever decided that this is correct behaviour may want to reconsider.

i thought blankposts show up in the log like everything else web does it like this and toggling shownames changes the name on every post
