My camera sometimes freezes and closes the mirror

Can anyone confirm the bug? I can't understand whether this is a software or hardware issue.

If the issue you described only occurs for about 1s at a time, then I can confirm that the same issue is happening for me with my Nikon D5200. Every so often, the camera will freeze, the mirror will close, and then it will open again and resume. I don't think this issue is specific to obs-gphoto though, as the same issue occurs when I leave gtkam open for an extended period of time.

I have the same issue with the Canon M50. It would seem an api problem.
