FODs estimation issue with NODDI

When trying to render the fiber orientation distributions with NODDI (or with CSD), the desktop environment crashes and needs to be restarted. The crash happens when using 'window.record' from the dipy toolbox.

Are there maybe some alternatives to this function to perform the rendering? All the scripts where FODs need to be estimated sadly rely on this function.
