ModAssistant doesn't launch anymore after first launch unless moved or windows is restarted

Open mavanmanen opened this issue 4 years ago • 2 comments

Version: 1.1.13.0 Windows: 10.0.19041 Build 19041

Whenever I launch the ModAssistant after it has already launched once during current boot it always starts hanging on opening. The window opens but shows no content and immediately goes into a hang state but doesn't throw any exceptions. The only workaround for this is moving the ModAssistant executable (sometimes doesn't work) or restarting windows.

Additional information from windows about the hang:

Can you check, if the process of the first modAsisstant isn't maybe really shutting down but is hanging in an exit-state?

I'm having the same issue. It works if I move it to a brand new folder, but the weird thing is if I try moving it back it to a folder that I already opened it on it will almost immediately stop responding again in the same state. For example when I tried opening it a second time in the original location it only loaded the UI but then became unresponsive, but in a new folder I didn't get any UI at all only a white screen. When I tried launching it again it would always go back to the state of the folder so original location always brought up the UI but the other folder never did. I checked Task manager and didn't see any process still running. Also in the event viewer it only shows the errors on the launches after the original one no exit errors on the working ones. Let me know if there is a better way to check the exit-state and any logs you may need.
