OC 0.7.6
Hello @AskDavis,
I just updated the OC config and kexts to OC 0.7.6 with the latest kexts as of 12/12/2021. Thought it would help others to get to Monterey if they wanted to. (I haven't tested it but everything is working on Big Sur).
Just wanted to give back to the community!
please use this updated efi
@AskDavis I fixed sleep! I changed the ig-platform-id to 8A510002, updated some SSDT's from SSDTime, added some boot-args and sleep is working like a charm!
The usual Dortania sleep fixes are needed (the sudo pmset commands) EFI_sleep_fix.zip
You should follow the dortania guide to get started. The efi folder is flawless and should not have issues.
You are running Monterey. The EFI @AskDavis and I have made is meant for Big Sur. Monterey support is not supported by this EFI and what you have reported is indicative of that.

Do you guys have any plans to support monterey in the near future?

Yes I do! During the Holidays ive been pretty busy, thanks to @daniyo27 i should be able to use his sleep fix and EFI folders to upgrade to Opencore 0.7.6 for monterey before Christmas, thanks for your patience!
When I plug in the USB device and use it, the screen goes black when I wake up after going to sleep.
Mornig, who can help me with kernel panic with voodoops2trackpad identify touchpad command failed, I have no idea what will be happend with this, I am used last EFI folder and I can not enter to my instalation of BigSur, pleasse help me.
The trackpad does not work in the installation. You have to plug in your mouse for installation. Chances are you didn't follow the bios settings and you have a kernel panic.
Have you added a Type, Serial, Board Serial and an UUID in the config?
Then have you switched out the SSD? The OEM SSD included will not boot macOS.
Has anyone tested running an external display via USB-C? I found it curious that thunderbolt doesn't work
External display does not work at the moment via USB C (results in black screen). USB-C DisplayPort KP's the laptop too.
Built in HDMI will never work because of Ice Lake.
If you have the time to diagnose and figure it out please post your findings

To use wifi we need to update wifi kext, but for bluetooth I have followed dortania guide to try to update kext and I cannot set up bluetooth on Monterey.

bluetooth support may be broken for some devices. for example my MX Master 3 mouse does not pair properly on big sur too.
I just updated to OC 0.7.8 and Big Sur 11.6.4, but the grande improvement for us comes from upgrading WEG to the 1.5.7 release. Finally Ice Lake Iris+ graphics boots up with full display brightness. No more need for a sleep/wake cycle to get full display brightness!

@1OldSWguy hi,I am a user of Z1590n, I use the latest version of EFI of this project, it still has a hibernation problem, can you share your EFI
Hi @YigengH, I have hibernation (S4) disabled per the OpenCore guide. I also have changed the power management settings per the guide. sudo pmset autopoweroff 0 sudo pmset powernap 0 sudo pmset standby 0 sudo pmset proximitywake 0 sudo pmset tcpkeepalive 0 There are a few things I do for sleep (S0, S3) but I think most of them are in this repositories EFI already. I also don't enter sleep often enough to report on how well it works. I did initially have reboot and black display issues, but since 11.6.3 was released all of the typical fixes appear to work. The only issue I know I have is that WiFi does not return to function after S3 sleep unless it is toggled off and back on. I do my ACPI a slight bit different than this repository, and I do have some device properties differences and possibly some boot arguments as well. Look at my attached config.plist and if there is anything from my EFI of interest I will share with you. config.plist.1OldSWguy.txt
Has anyone been able to get it working with an external display via USB-C?
I have a Dell XPS 9700 on Big Sur (nearly perfect, except for sound) and thinking of switching to this LG Gram 17 for the better battery life (I think... what is your battery life like on Mac btw, I've only seen reviews on Windows).
Would be a no go if I can't have external display though.
I'm also keenly awaiting any news regarding external display support via USB-C
BTW the main page ought to list external monitor support as non-functional until it is. This isn't a minor feature.
Why don't you guys try to help out then if external monitor support is so important? It is the reason why we release the EFI zips here? We do this all as a hobby and have more important things to do... and askDavis has done most of the hard work.
If you have the time, go through other peoples Ice Lake configurations that say USB-C display is working and try to migrate their patches over? Perhaps you can also try out the new OC and dortania guides and report back? Another area of interest is disabling hda-gfx for the usbc port? Perhaps also Monterey could also magically fix some things?
I don't have the LG laptop to try it out. I was hoping to know so I could buy it.
I've got a Dell XPS 13 with Icelake i7-1065G7 with USB-C external display working on Big Sur, so I don't think it's due to Ice Lake and would be good to confirm that it does work on this LG Gram. I've attached my EFI here if anyone wants to try it on this LG.
hi, can someone fix the issue that cannot prevent it go into sleep after close the LCD?
Hi @rich1111 I don't understand your question. Do you want to prevent sleep when the LID is closed under any condition, or only when external display is connected? I use the LID patch method taken from another Ice Lake model (can't remember where I got it). I have not tested if this provides proper functionality for the power management control settings though. I'll test the next time I get an opportunity and report back.
Hi, yes, i want to prevent sleep when the Lid is closed.
Hi, yes, i want to prevent sleep when the Lid is closed.
I am unable to figure out how the system preferences setting to prevent sleep when the display turns off is supposed to work. I can only guess that our ACPI is missing a method to disable sleep when the display turns off. I have discovered a way though that I think provides the functionality that you are looking for. The attached SSDT (DSL, let me know if you cannot compile it) and config plist changes will disable the LID switch EC query method (_Q42). I tested this on my system and it does prevent sleep, yet still allows the display to shut off. Let me know how this works for you. LID-Disable.zip
Hi 1OldSWguy, Thank you for your reply. Yes, please tell me how to compile the DSL, and if you are convenient, please give the whole EFI. Thanks!
Hi rich1111, My EFI folder is too large (50 MB) to upload here. I have attached the compiled AML as I assume you do not have an IASL tool.
I'll try splitting it in to multiple files to see if that works.
