Add setting to revert to non-lazy mark-as-read behaviour
1. Environment
- Device: Samsung A55
- OS: Android 14
- APP: 0.12.2
2. Describe the feature request
Would it be possible to add a setting to restore the old mark-as-read behaviour (where read articles are immediately cleared from the Unread list)? I personally prefer it to the new lazy one as I found it easier to clear out large numbers of articles which I was not interested in.
fwiw the top-right button still commit the marking right away. it's actually easier to remove the items than doing lazy marking as before, but keeping it (for mark above as read) somewhat introduce some imcomsistency to the current ux
We have:
- Enter the reader / switch between articles
- Swipe to mark as read
- Scroll to mark as read
- Mark above/below as read
- The top-right date-based "Mark as read" button
+1 on the issue.
I find it very confusing that even if I've red all the articles within a feed it will still show the original number when I go back to the feed list.

For Miniflux users, the "Mark all as read" button in the top right doesn't work properly, whether using the Google Reader API or the Fever API. Additionally, with the current lazy loading mechanism, it's nearly impossible to tell whether an article has truly been marked as read. Therefore, I suggest reverting to the previous behavior

Thank you for fixing the "Mark all as read" button at the top — it now works great and syncs immediately! However, the "Pull up to mark all as read" gesture at the bottom still has a noticeable delay. I suggest making this bottom gesture behave the same as the top button, with immediate sync and update
