Combat Abilities

With magic coming in non-magic people will need some way to shine. Also duel wielding and shields also are something that needs to be added. I was thinking of this problem and thought, why not add combat abilities that people can use in fights?

How combat abilities work is that it allows you to perform certain feats, like block with a shield (giving you a higher soak rating), duel wield attack (attack twice per turn), knock your opponent down (give them a dodge penalty if you beat them in an opposed Strength Check).

You can preform certain abilities a number of times per fight as your rank in them (You buy ranks just like if they were a skill, and the cap for them is 5). Certain abilities have requirements such as wielding a small, medium, or large weapon, or bow, or make certain checks and what not. Here are some ideas for combat abilities.

Duel Weapon Attack Requirement: small or medium weapon Desc: You attack with a primary and offhanded weapon, making two melee attacks in a round. You can't use this ability if you've used Shield Block this fight.

Shield Block Requirements: small or medium wpn Desc: You block with a shield, increasing your soak rating for that round. You can't use this ability if you used Duel Weapon Attack this fight.

Sweeping Strike Requirements: huge wpn Desc: You swing in a large arc, striking two separate opponents. You make two attack rolls, each with different targets

Knockdown Requirements: Brawl 1+ Desc: You make an opposed strength check against your target, consuming your round. If you beat their check, they have a dodge penalty until the end of the next round.

Total Defense Requirements: None Desc: You focus entirely on defending yourself, sacrificing a chance to attack. You do not attack this round but receive a large bonus to dodge and soak rating.

Throw Requirements: Unarmed Desc: You perform a throw on an opponent, making a brawl attack and dealing extra damage based upon their dodge penalty (heavier armor means they fall harder).

Quick Patchup Requirements: Medicine 1+ Desc: You sacrifice an attack to instead quickly patch up an ally. This however leaves you vulnerable, you receive a dodge penalty until the end of the next round.

Two Arrow Shot Req: Bow Desc: You fire with two arrows instead of one, making two ranged attack rolls at the same target
