Equipment Pledge System

When a new piece of equipment is needed people make pledges, could this be managed through the system. Something along the lines of kickstarter, a pledge is setup with a total required and people pledge an amount. It would need to cater for pledges and donations and potentially handle repayments or at least report on this fact.

Could make use of prepayments to autocharge people when it completes but this might be too much.
