mods not updating from 1.0 to 1.1

i am trying to update my mods from 1.0 to 1.1 and says all the mods are upto date

Currently this is intended. Updating mods in MMF1 was pretty complicated because it accomodated for updating within the same Factorio version and across Factorio versions at the same time, resulting in a cluttered GUI as well as difficult to debug code. In MMF2 I avoided this altogether by only updating mods within the same Factorio version.

If you have a suggestion on how to handle this better I'm always open for ideas.

I tried moving all my mods from the 0.18 folder to the 1.1 folder and then the program wouldn't open

Not sure about not opening but that wouldn't work either way, MMF expects mods to be sorted into the correct folder, manual intervention is bound to cause issues.

You can use Factorio to do the update or redownload them
