D-pad/thumb stick don't work on 8BitDo Pro 2 Controller
Hello. I just installed the most recent version of the patch (0.9.0, on GOG Tomb 2), and using the 8BitDo Pro 2 controller all but the d-pad/thumb stick work. I tried messing with the configuration but did not manage to make it work. All other buttons/commands work (jump/menus/shooting/etc). I tested other joypad (an generic one) and it worked fine. I could use the other controller to play, but feels really bad to not be able to use this specific controller (is one of the best/feels really good to use).
I tested the vanilla game and TR2Main v0.8.2. In both the thumb stick kinda work.
Hey! Please run setup dialog (via run_setup.bat for example) and make sure that in controls tab your gamepad is displayed as XInput device.
Thank you for your fast reply. The config shows the controller as "Xinput Controller 1". (in game all but d-pad and thumb stick work, even the R3/L3 sidesteps work). The controller selection and configure joystick button are greyed out (cant change).
It's strange.
Let's try few modes at back of your gamepad
- S for Switch (probably we can ignore it)
- A for Apple (probably we can ignore it)
- D for DirectInput
- X for XInput.
and check your gamepad via few online services: https://devicetests.com/controller-tester https://hardwaretester.com/gamepad (make sure it detected as XBox controller in top-level corner if X mode enabled)
Indeed very strange. Thank you it worked. I had forgot about these modes. D (DirectInput) worked. I guess only if you have access to more 8bitdoPro2 controllers to check if the problem is in all or just me. That being said, thank you very much.
Hi, I'm having a similar problem with the 8bitdo Ultimate Bluetooth controller, but only the d-pad isn't working. In every other game and the testing websites linked, everything works fine. The setup window shows XInput Controller 1. I can move with the left stick, but I'd rather use the d-pad.
