I met same issue in DayZ, not only in SP mission.

First of all what's type of guns do you using when got that issue (NATO/Russian/Soviet)?

Try to recreate that issue. For me it happens when I'm killing 10-15th zombi in row with unlim ammo (that feature available in Offline Mode, by single click R). And solving it with hitting zombs woth buttstock/bayonet and then start over shooting without the issues and game properly registering hits of zmbs.

That is strange, can you elaborate this further? Does it also happen with melee weapons?
