Season 8 Enhancement: add "auto calculate" toggle to player logs
Similar to the old "auto-calculate" for DM logs, it would be nice to add an option that lets you put in a field with the expected/actual runtime, and have it calculate the ACP/TCP/Downtime based upon the runtime and the current tier.
Agreed, but I feel this could be done post- launch.
I'd definitely consider it to be relatively low priority. Just adding it here for tracking/notification.
These aren't guaranteed to be awarded though.

Thus why it should be a toggle, similar to DM rewards were under the old system. You can either auto-calculate or input manually.
I don't follow. This is going to be dictated by a DM, like XP and GP were before.
pre-season 8 adventures (basically most of the catalogue) won't have story points, just a fixed number of checkpoints based on the module's published target duration. As long as you stay until the end, you get exactly these points. So there will be a lot of cases where the amount of CP is actually well known, but of course you are right that the DM has to say that they are awarding them. This is why I think there should be external support for the DMs to build the awards and then link them to the players, like in the other proposal I have made.
if you want to get into the business of helping the DMs do this directly on your site, that would be swell also... that would be much easier than the tunneling proposal I made, because the DM could create a table entry on your site that references all the awards for one session and the character's owners just click on it to accept it into their log. It would be relevant to consider whether players should be able to edit these awards rather than just linking the log entry into all the relevant characters. Probably yes they should be able to edit, since you are basically following a "paper honor system" model for everything.

You mean like the Campaigns feature?

I am assuming you are being funny and it is exactly that? I have never looked at campaigns but I realized log entries can be linked to multiple chars (I assume for campaigns?) But that takes away the player's power to correct DM mistakes in tracking and making their own decisions to fix their log sheet, as it is now.

I mean, if that's the fundamental problem, then maybe the better way is to introduce a copy log feature or some such to let players copy a campaign log entry to a player log entry so they can edit it that way.
copy-on-edit makes a lot of sense to me.
the other part of my comment, regarding helping DMs prepare the awards and then sharing them, is the use case of the DM hosting an adventure on Roll20, for a group of players that signed up via Discord or similar. Obviously, they are not currently in a Campaign and use of your site is not mandated for all players. During the session, if it is a Season 8 adventure, the DM will need to record "item XYZ was found and is unlocked" or "story point XYZ awarded because some objective was reached" or maybe they just put in "award 4 hours of Tier 2 module" because it is Season 5 or hard cover. Either way, they will build up a "bag" of rewards and at the end of the session give the log entry to all the players.
It is possible that this "bag of rewards" is a thing that is done in a roll20 plugin, like I have been discussing, so it can be tied to the death of a specific token or just typed in as a command when the DM gets to that point of the adventure. I personally like a lot of Roll20 automation, so this seems logical to me.
Or maybe, the DM also has your site open in a tab and just builds up the bag of rewards in there and just shares the link at the end? It would be human readable so that those people who don't use your site for tracking can just copy it down into whatever log sheet system (like paper) they use. It is up to you to decide if you want to provide the DM part, which is what I was trying to say by "the business of helping the DMs".
In either scenario, if someone who is logged into your site clicks the link, it allows them to directly apply the log entry to their character, adding any character-specific stuff like gold spent to cast a spell or expended resources.

I think it would be nice to have Renown and Downtime done automatically at least, if toggled on, as those are determined by ACP earned, which can sometimes be a hassle keeping it accurate when you're earning ACP in non-even values. I've learned that it doesn't like you trying to add .75 Renown when you get 3/4 the ACP you need for the next Renown, but it works fine for half increments.
So if it could be turned on to do the calculable things like keeping track of your DT as 5 per 2 ACP, and Renown at 1 per 4.
Gold gains as a toggle for when you cross a level threshold might be nice as well, which is something that can easily be determined.
