[FEATURE REQUEST] - Allow Vault-Password change

Open FloTheSysadmin opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

If your password ever gets compromised, or you need to change it for other reasons, it is not possible with the current version of the app.

Describe the solution you'd like.

It would be great if you could change the password and re-encrypt the vault.

I am genuinely surprised this is not already possible. This is an important feature to have. I set the vault pin as my phone pin just to get the app running and testing things out, thinking I could change it to something new later, and now the shortcut unlock pin and vault pin are the same, and I can't do anything about it except uninstall and reinstall the app, but I've already got things in the vault, so I'd have to export those things first. The situation is not ideal.

The password is used to encrypt the individual files, there is no single "vault file" so reinstalling the app is not needed. I will add a tool for it soon :)
