Rebalance Tungsten Recipes

Open KiwiHawk opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Background

T1 and T3 tungsten are far more complicated as they involve Fluorite Ore. T2 tungsten is far simpler and doesn't involve fluorite. This makes upgrading awkward.

T1: image Has an annoying, unvoidable by product Calcium Chloride.

T2: image

T3: image

For T1 and T3, recycling the returned Fluorite Ore adds significant additional complexity. This only covers just over 60% of the required Hydrogen Fluoride Gas. The remainder (and Sulfuric Acid) needs to be sourced from elsewhere.

Goals

  • Smooth the complexity curve. T1 should be the simplest, then T2, and finally T3 should be the most complex.
  • Remove the need to demolish a build then rebuild the same thing later on.

Proposal

image

  • Remove Tungstic Acid step from T1 image
  • Add Tungsten Oxide and Tungsten Hexafluoride Gas to T2 image
  • Add Ammonium Paratungstate and Tungstic Acid to T3 image

Just needs T1 to be a little harder to deal with to push for T2 asap, then possibly make the fluoride ore return closer to 90% for T3 and id call this perfect.

I've had another look at this and I don't know how to improve it. I still like it how it is!

The complexity jump between T1 and T2 isn't much: Just add ammonia. By this stage of the game, players have made ammonia before many times so that should be easy.

Also really not sure how to increase the fluorite return just for one tier. I've deliberately structured the recipes so all three tiers use the exactly the same fluorite recipes.
