Alien artifact research

I have already researched the small pink and orange artifacts a long time ago (this is an old save and alot has happened) but now when i want to research to make big blue artifacts i can't fit them into the research lab.

I posted an issue on on the github for PyCoalTBaA but he told me this was on your table. He told me that it should trigger something when i pick up an artifact for the first time so that the research lab accept them. That post: https://github.com/kingarthur91/PyCoalTBaA/issues/98

I'm not really sure how to reproduce exactly this, because i believe it's a result of migrating a save somehow. And the labs from pyanodons was also remade, i think it was just visually but i'm not sure.

But if Erkigmo is correct that there is suppose to be a "trigger" that should open up the slots in the lab when one picks up these for the first time, i believe that it could be re-triggered somehow? I guess it could be done with a console command or something?

The labs are never supposed to accept them. The tech is supposed to be automatically marked as researched when you kill something that drops the artifacts.

Ahh okey i see, i have killed something that drops all other artifacts before and stored them in a chest for later, but that was probably before that mechanic was invented then or something. (And that i've only killed enemies that dropped pink and orange ones after, making it only research those two) image

Maybe it will unlock the research from the other colors if i kill stuff that drops those colors again then? But i have some memory that i have killed recently something that dropped small blue ones but that haven't been researched, but i will investigate more tomorrow.

Oh perhaps I should have been a bit more clear and have referred to the technologies instead of just saying "these."

Aha yeah, yeah i thought you meant that the slots in the lab were revealed haha.

The artifact dropped by the enemies are just the pink and orange one, explaining why i only have those unlocked. But if i have all other colors that means that they have dropped before, but why doesn't they drop now? Are the other colors dropped only by evolved enemies perhaps?

I had enemies aggressivenes on default in the beginning of the game, like 5 years ago. And then i took a pause and everything in these mods were reworked and the game was unplayable for like 2-3 years because of uncompatible mods. Then when i got it working again i had to rebuild alot and was going to switch over to trains since they are researched very late in this pack (i think it was changed so they are researched a little earlier now) so i installed a mod that allow me to toggle peaceful mode on/off while i rebuild, but i'm not sure what happens to their evolution level if it was resetted to 0 or something.

Yeah probably, but as of now it's hard to say anything conclusive or verify, i could try sandbox just to see that it works, but that doesn't mean that it will work in the save i have which is what my worry is since it is originally an old save.

So I'll just keep playing, it will probably be a while until i get the other colored artifacts so the authors could put this ticket on hold or remove it if they want to, and when i have an update i can come back.

An update, i killed an enemy that dropped a yellow small orb, and then it unlocked the yellow research thing exactly the way you desrcibed so it seems to work.

I have played some more and killed biters and unlocked 3 more, the way you said it would work, but now i noticed that two of them won't unlock even if i've killed so like 100-200 small orbs of red and green have dropped.

And this haul was after the three other researches had already been unlocked (as a response to the argument that those who dropped red and green orbs was killed before the other, so the previous research wasn't unlocked (the previous color that is a dependency) before that enemy dropped the red and green orb so it couldn't unlock)

My modlist is unchanged. (it is posted above)
