Improve error message clarity

Concept

Our error messages often include a URL when they're reporting the failure of a network request. I've just had a user be confused because they tried to follow said URL to gain more information about the problem; we should make it clear that the reported error text is information that can be reported to us, rather than an instruction about how to proceed.
